It's no wonder
workers are leaving their regular jobs in droves and setting up
businesses in their homes. Those working for others have an average
annual paycheck of $26,000.00, according to national statistics.
At the same time, the 27.1 MILLION in-home businesses are averaging
$50,250.00 - nearly twice as much! And 20% of them earn more than
$75,000 per year!
Ninety-five
percent of those who start a home business succeed in their very
first year! An amazing 85% are still in business and doing very
well after three years! That compares with a miserable 20% of new
conventional small businesses still solvent after three years!
Why strive for
a failure rate of 80% when a home business is almost sure to succeed?
Many home business owners left their regular jobs to avoid mounting

10 Steps
to Building a Large, Profitable Downline
Ok, so you have
sponsored some dealers, as a matter of fact, quite a few but you
have a problem... THEY DON'T DO ANYTHING! They are not sponsoring
like you are and you have "tried everything" and it hasn't worked!
Let me ask you
a question... When you first got a job, didn't someone "take you
by the hand" and train you? Didn't someone show - not tell - you
where everything from the bathroom to the time clock is located?
You were shown many things about your job to HELP YOU GET STARTED!
HOW DO YOU EXPECT YOUR AMSOIL DEALERS TO "GET STARTED" WITHOUT SOME
TRAINING?
STEP ONE
Schedule the
meeting to sponsor your prospective dealer. Don't just call up and
say, "Joe, I'll come over one night next week and we will go over
the AMSOIL Marketing Plan." MAKE A SPECIFIC APPOINTMENT! Make that
appointment 3 DAYS IN ADVANCE and THE NIGHT BEFORE, RECONFIRM THE
APPOINTMENT! "Joe, This is Glenn and I am reconfirming that my wife
and I will be over to your home at 7:30 and we will then be able
to talk about this fantastic Amsoil Business. I know you will be
excited about this business and I can't wait to tell you about it!
By the way, Joe, if something does come up that you can't make it
PLEASE call me because I have others that want to see this, also."I
know you and your wife will really be excited about this opportunity!
You have made
a SPECIFIC APPOINTMENT at a SPECIFIC TIME and you have RECONFIRMED
IT the night before. This will avoid "no-shows" and you won't be
WASTING YOUR TIME! YOUR TIME IS VALUABLE! You also have informed
him that there are other people out there BESIDES HIM that want
to see this! That adds VALUE to your appointment in HIS MIND.
You should do
TWO meetings per week this way. One on Monday or Tuesday evening
and one on Wednesday or Thursday evening. The reason for this is
that you are going to DEVELOPE TWO STRONG LINES OF SPONSORSHIP AT
A TIME!
STEP TWO
You have the
meeting with your prospect AT THE PROSPECTS HOME and have completed
your discussion of the Sales Plan. He has or is ready to "sign up"!
NOW THE IMPORTANT PART OF STEP TWO! You tell him (this is Monday
evening) that you will BE BACK WEDNESDAY EVENING at the same time!
What you are going to do WEDNESDAY EVENING is to, go over the basics
of what you discussed on Monday AND when you have completed answering
any questions he may have you will then, together with your prospect
MAKE A LIST OF 35 PEOPLE that either want to MAKE MONEY or SAVE
MONEY! These will include friends, neighbors, relatives (yes, he
too will 'practice on them', people he works with, trade associates,
business associates, etc. Now it is a PROVEN FACT that the AVERAGE
PERSON knows AT LEAST 300 OTHER PEOPLE. These are the people he
will draw upon to make his list. He also goes to hardware stores,
gas stations, Doctors, Lawyers, has his gardner and other service
personnel.... ALL THESE PEOPLE GO ON HIS LIST! MAKE THE LIST...
THIS IS THE SECRET TO HIS SUCCESS!
Now, get out
the AMSOIL Product Catalog, the Wholesale Dealer Price List and
a blank sheet of paper. Write down the Make, Model, Year, and engine
size of each vehicle he and his wife own. Show him all of the AMSOIL
Products that can be used in or on each car/truck/van. Figure out
the Dealer Cost and then ask, "Which of these vehicles would you
like to get started on AMSOIL first?" COMPLETE THE ORDER FORM and
get ready to "process".
STEP THREE
NOW YOU ARE
GOING TO WORK WITH "THE LIST"! You and your prospcet - NEW DEALER
- go over the list. Pick out about FIVE prime prospects and tell
your new dealer that YOU WANT HIM TO CALL THE FIRST OF THE FIVE
YOU HAVE SELECTED. He is simply going to tell "his friend" that
he has just become an AMSOIL DEALER and even though he really doesn't
know a lot about it he KNOWS that he can either SAVE MONEY for the
person being called or if they are interested can MAKE MONEY FOR
THEM! He will tell his friend that his business associate (you)
is with him and he would like for him to talk to him (you) for a
couple of minutes. (NOW KEEP IN MIND THIS IS YOUR NEW DEALER'S FRIEND...
NOT YOURS) You simply take the phone, introduce yourself, tell them
a little about the benefits of using or selling AMSOIL and ask if
you could "stop by for a few minutes TOMORROW NIGHT to leave them
some information and point out a few of the benefits of using AMSOIL.
Set your appointment for 7:30 pm and thank them. Now advise your
new dealer that you will be by TOMORROW NIGHT AT 7 PM to pick him
up to go see his friend.
What
have you accomplished so far?
You have sponsored
one dealer. You have shown your dealer how to develop a "prospect
list". You have shown your new dealer how to make contact with those
prospects and how to set an appointment. You also have shown your
dealer how to get an order, figure prices, look up filters, capacities
and oil types in his manuals and how to "call or mail it in"! Impress
that it is very important to do THE SAME with his new dealers EXACTLY
WHAT YOU DID WITH HIM! --- FOLKS, THAT IS WHAT WE MEAN BY DUPLICATION
OF EFFORT -- such a great benefit in the AMSOIL business!
STEP FOUR
Step four is
for you to GO BACK TO YOUR NEW DEALER get another "prospect" from
his list and EXACTLY REPEAT STEPS 1, 2, AND 3 WITH THAT NEW PROSPECT
for YOUR dealer. What you have now completed is your new dealer
working with TWO LINES OF SPONSORSHIP! Make sure you complete each
part of the steps without missing anything.
YOU
ARE NOW WORKING WITH YOUR NEW DEALER THREE DAYS PER WEEK!
STEP FIVE
You now want
to get together with your new dealer AND HIS FIRST NEW DEALER. MAKE
A DEFINITE APPOINTMENT and you and your new dealer sit down with
him and show him on paper (maybe using a copy of this page) how
he can work the Ten Steps to his success. Guide him and his new
dealer through the steps that they are going to perform.
Impress on the
new dealers that they WORK THE FIRST FIVE STEPS OF THE PLAN TOGETHER.
Once your new dealer has "one line of sponsorship" working the first
five steps effectively your new dealer can then start steps six
through ten. THIS WILL GIVE HIM TWO NEW LINES OF SPONSORSHIP TO
BE WORKING EVERY 3 WEEKS. He is now working TWO lines of sponsorship.
As his "first line" gets going on their own he can now start another
line to work with. That will happen every 3 weeks.
STEPS SIX
- TEN
YOU now have
completed steps 1 through 5 which takes up three days per week.
That is ONE HALF your 'plan'. THE OTHER HALF OF YOUR PLAN IS TO
REPEAT STEPS 1 THROUGH 5 ON THE OTHER 3 DAYS PER WEEK!
Your step 6
through 10 is for YOU to start a SECOND LINE doing the same as you
did with the first line. YOU ARE WORKING STEPS ONE THROUGH FIVE
3 DAYS PER WEEK AND STEPS SIX THROUGH TEN THE OTHER 3 DAYS PER WEEK!
That gives you
5 steps each with TWO lines of sponsorship to be working with on
a continual basis. This is investing a lot of time, however, if
you want quick success THIS IS THE WAY TO DO IT!
Do you want
to be a Direct Dealer in about 3 months? DO THE 10 STEPS AND YOU
WILL FAR AND AWAY EXCEED THAT GOAL!
CONTINUED
FOLLOW UP AND DEALER TRAINING
You will find
that you will have a large and successful group within a month or
so and NOW is the time to take one time per month (preferably a
Sat AM or Afternoon) and hold one meeting at your place PER MONTH
for continued dealer exchange, idea development, and dealer training.
It is at this time you might want to invite your Direct Jobber to
come in and talk to the group.
If you will
continue to use the "10 Steps to Success" you can't begin to appreciate
